Nathan Carter has just released a new single for Summer 2026 with Sharpe Music. Originally recorded by 4 Non Blondes, What’s Up remains one of the most recognisable songs of the 1990s. Now, Nathan brings his own style to the hit, giving it modern country sound while retaining the energy that helped the original spend 20 weeks on the US Billboard Hot 100.
Recorded in Dublin during sessions for his forthcoming album, the track wasn’t originally part of the plan.
“We were jamming in the studio between tracks and started playing around with it. Even after a long day in the studio, it got everyone singing. One thing quickly led to another, and this arrangement was the result. We made it country, and I think it sits really well alongside the new material on the album. It’s the only cover on the record, and I’m delighted with how it turned out.”
